In a world so ephemeral and transitory, redefining itself at a speed that has shifted from linear to exponential, the fragility of life becomes clear. Just as in any metamorphosis, we not only witness our changing form but also our function.
Metaphorically, using the Monarch Butterfly, a species that experiences cycles of change so sudden, pronounced, and filled with transformation and ultimately culminating in the freedom of flight, I embark on my artistic creation.

Large-format photographs. Backgrounds created using hundreds or thousands of paper or recycled cardboard butterflies to set the scene. The photographs are taken during brief happenings that occur with real models interacting with the scenarios created specifically for the work.
