PAPER PIECES FROM METAMORPHOSIS
In a world so ephemeral and transitory, redefining itself at a speed that has shifted from linear to exponential, the fragility of life becomes clear. Just as in any metamorphosis, we not only witness our changing form but also our function.
Metaphorically, using the Monarch Butterfly, a species that experiences cycles of change so sudden, pronounced, and filled with transformation and ultimately culminating in the freedom of flight, I embark on my artistic creation.
MEDIUM
Works made with hundreds or, in some cases, thousands of paper butterflies. In certain instances, these butterflies are coated with gold or copper leaf. The works are framed in acrylic boxes or in traditional wood frames with glass coverings.
